Answers to common questions about wallets, security, and the eCurrency network — all in one place.
// Seed phrase security //
Your seed phrase is the only key to your wallet
Anyone who has your 12 or 24 words has full control of your funds. Lost seed phrases cannot be restored — not even by the eCurrency team.
- Never share it — not even with support
- Store it offline, never in screenshots
- We never ask for it by email, chat or phone
Getting Started
What is eCurrency?
eCurrency is a blockchain network for programmable payments — micropayments, automated revenue distribution and machine-to-machine transactions.
How do I create an eCurrency wallet?
Open the Web Wallet, choose “Create wallet”, set a password and write down the seed phrase you are shown. Keep it offline.
Which wallets are available?
eCurrency wallets are available on every major platform: the Web Wallet in your browser, desktop apps for Linux, macOS and Windows, and mobile apps for iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play).
Is it free to open a wallet?
Yes. Creating a wallet is free; only on-chain transactions require a small network fee.
Wallets
How do I restore my wallet with a seed phrase?
Open the wallet, choose “Restore wallet” and enter your 12 or 24 words in the exact order. Never type your seed phrase on websites, in chats or support forms — eCurrency support will never ask for it.
Can I use one wallet on several devices?
Yes. Restore the same seed phrase on each device — your balance and history are stored on-chain, not on the device.
Where can I download the official wallet?
Only from the Wallets page at ecurrency.org/wallets. Do not install wallets from links sent in messages.
Why don’t I see my balance?
Check that you are connected to the correct network and that the latest blocks have synced. Refresh the wallet after a few minutes.
Seed Phrase & Security
What is a seed phrase?
A seed phrase is a list of 12 or 24 words that generates your private keys. It is the master backup of your wallet.
What happens if I lose my seed phrase?
If you are still logged in, create a new wallet and move your funds there immediately. Without the phrase, access cannot be recovered.
Can eCurrency support recover my wallet?
No. eCurrency is non-custodial: we never store seed phrases or private keys and cannot restore access.
How do I recognise a phishing attempt?
Be careful with anyone asking for your seed phrase, “verification” payments or urgent action. Always check that the address is ecurrency.org.
Transactions & Fees
Why is my transaction still pending?
During peak load confirmation can take longer. Check the transaction hash in the Blockchain Explorer to see its status.
How are network fees calculated?
Fees depend on the transaction size and current network load. The wallet shows the exact fee before you confirm.
Can I cancel or reverse a transaction?
Confirmed transactions are final and cannot be reversed. Always double-check the recipient address.
Network & Validators
How do I become a validator?
Install the Validator Software, meet the staking requirements and register your node. See the Developers page for documentation.
What is ECR used for?
ECR pays network fees, secures the network through staking and powers programmable payment logic.
Where can I check network status?
Live network data, blocks and transactions are available in the Blockchain Explorer.
